On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

  1. Youth Summer Tennis

    July 30, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Victory Tennis Courts

    Lessons are held daily from Monday through Friday for 50 minutes. Our lessons include forehand, backhand and overhead shots, serving and scoring. July 6th and July 7th are set aside for placing the students in their proper skills classes.

  4. Summer Parks Program Grades: K-12

    July 30, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Victory Field, O’Connell Park, Bemis Park and Casey

    Come join the recreation park instructors for a summer filled of sports, games and activities. There will be a variety of sports offered such as wiffleball, kickball, soccer, baseball and badminton, as well as arts and crafts for those who need a break from the hot summer sun during the day. In addition to sports, games and arts and crafts, will also take various trips throughout the summer to Canobie Lake Park, Laser-Craze, Chunky’s Theater and Water Wizz just to name a few.

  5. Pre-Kindergarten Outdoor Sports Ages 3-5

    July 30, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Tuesdays at Victory, Wednesdays at 552 Main Street (Behind Police Station) Thursdays at Casey Park

    This program will stress fun and fundamentals of soccer, T-Ball, and other games. The children will work on skills needed to play these games as well as learn about teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun, safe setting.

  6. Men's Summer Basketball League

    July 30, 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM @ Saltonstall Outdoor Court

    The League will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. The cost of the league is $1300.00 with an additional $100.00 forfeit fee that will be returned if there are no forfeits. This will bring the total fee to $1400.00 The entry fee covers all costs for the league: This includes 15 regular season games plus playoffs, officials, scorers, timers and 15 reversible mesh game jerseys. If we owe your team money from last year, we will deduct it from this year’s fee. There will be two leagues offered: Papas Elite League: High Level Players - College Level Only - Need bigs as well as talented guards Team must include 80% former or current College basketball players. O’Brien-Jerahian Legends League: Summer League Veterans Only - Over 30 years old. League Fee Time Table: Checks made out to the “Town of Watertown” with your team’s name on it.   7. Mens Summer Basketball Legends Leagues

    July 30, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Saltonstall Courts

    The Watertown Recreation Men’s Basketball League is now in the process of organizing for the upcoming summer season. The newly dedicated O’Brien-Jerahian Legends League will begin to play on Thursday, May 21st (Scrimmage-draft day) and end by the middle of August at the latest. This Legends League plays their games on Thursdays at either 6:30 or 7:25 pm. We are now in the process of securing players for the upcoming season. A requirement to be a member of a Legend Team you must be 30 or older, have played in the league for at least 10 years, have roots in Watertown and be approved by the commissioner. Please register online or mail-bring this form to the Recreation Department with a check for $125.00.
