Fleet
Responsibilities
The Fleet Division is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of all the Department of Public Work’s motorized equipment, including inspectional services’ vehicles, senior buses, skating arena vehicles, and fire department vehicles. There are several specialized and very high maintenance vehicles operated by the division which are critical to the day-to-day operations of each and every division. It is important to state that the Fleet Division is not comparable to your average repair shop. The day-to-day operations of this division address repair and maintenance of various vehicles which fall into standard motor vehicle class categories including high pressure water jetting systems and high-volume sewer vacuum equipment, as well as high maintenance street sweeping equipment. This division is also responsible for repair and maintenance of snow and ice equipment, which includes general motorized equipment and deicing spreaders.
